Video Documentary
Highlighting
the achievements of 20 outstanding Caribbean personalities in
Science and Technology, the video documentary has been produced for
use in schools and for national science popularisation programmes
throughout the region.
Four
video documentaries comprise this series. The Icons in Innovation
segment features five individuals who have contributed to
ground-breaking advances in their respective fields of innovative
work. The Icons in Medicine segment focuses on the achievements of
six leading lights in the arena of medical research and practise.
Seven different disciplines are highlighted in the Icons in Science
segment, chronicling the work of persons who have built the region’s
reputation for research excellence. The Science Education Icons
complete the series with two persons who collectively trained
thousands of university students to strengthen the region’s
capability in medicine and plant science.
Viewers
of this documentary will have the chance to follow the stories of
these achievers and to learn of the persons and experiences which
inspired their careers in science and which motivated them to excel.
