It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Caribbean Icons
in Science, Technology and Innovation web
site, a joint project of NIHERST and CCST supported by the OAS
Inter-American Agency for Co-operation and Development.
The web site was designed as a means of providing students and the general public with easily accessible and up to date information on Caribbean Icons. At the launch of this web site we highlight the accomplishments of twenty (20) scientists that are featured in a Video Documentary, which was produced under this project. Copies of this feature video have been donated to secondary schools and public broadcast stations throughout the region for use in science teaching and popularisation programmes in CCST member countries.
Over the next few months, the site will be updated to feature some twenty-seven ( 27 ) additional Icons whose achievements were captured in the conduct of this research project.
The site features a biographical profile on each Icon plus other information including references to other information sources, web links, selected publications, awards, memberships, and a photo gallery.
